Hi ChoxChe-ers! How are you? I hope you are doing great! We are already in the month of August, which means it is 4 months away from December, my favorite month! Ok, let’s not talk about December just yet, let’s focus on August! As you guys know, Singapore is celebrating its 52nd National Day on this upcoming 9th August ; yes, it’s not 4 months, but it’s 4 days away from now! This year, the theme for the National Day Parade is #OneNationTogether. Not only the “#” is used to enabling Singaporean to share the parade on social media more effectively, but the “#” also serves as the iconic image of four interlocking arms found in the Singapore’s first Orchid series $10 note launched in 1967, a symbol that represents Singapore’s social unity and multicultural harmony. Since last week, the island has turned into the red and white dot with its national flags fluttering from buildings, houses and even cars. Many shops in the malls are having National Day Specials and empty spaces available for rent have been mostly filled with the nostalgic-themed food fair. The giant fast food chains, like McDonald’s and Starbucks also have come up with the ‘Singapore Exclusive’ food themes; Speaking of which, have you tried the Starbucks Shiok-ah-ccino Frappuccino and McDonald's Nasi Lemak Burger and Chendol McFlurry? Well you’d better be if you haven’t! These foods are undoubtfully unique as they are created by combining the longing food ingredients with their own products. This has evoked my creativity sense –that, to say- Today’s recipe is also something unique because I had never cooked it before - but the combination is dope and trust me, it tastes yummy too. Enough of intro, I am announcing the 'Steamed pork with golden mushroom in oyster sauce' as our recipe of the day! Let's check it out!
Ingredients:
1. 350 gr pork loin (boneless)
2. 300 gr Enoki Mushroom
3. Sesame oil (2 tablespoons)
4. Oyster sauce (2 tablespoons)
Serving size: 2
Instructions:
1. Rinse and remove the fats from the pork.

2. Slice away the stem end of enoki mushcroom and rinse the stalks thoroughly.

3. Cut the pork fillet into bite-sized pieces.

4. Marinate the pork in 2 tablespoon of sesame oil and 2 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Mix to coat evenly.

5. Add the enoki mushroom and mix them further for even coverage. You can refrigerate this for 30 minutes, or not; as either way the taste is going to be awesome, though marinating the meat will give a slightly intense flavor.

6. Steam under low heat for half and hour until the sauce is fully absorbed into meat and mushroom. Do an occasional mixing every 15 minutes to avoid burnt as the mushroom stalks tend to stick round the pan.

7. Check whether the pork has cooked by piercing through with fork. It is ready to serve when you could pierce through it easily.

TARAA! We are done!
Happy Cooking, ChoxChe-ers!
