Hi ChoxChe-ers! At last the long awaited weekend is here! How have you guys been doing? I hope you have been doing marvelous! Though it’s early by a day, ChoxChe here would like to excitingly wish all of ChoxChe’s Muslim followers & friends a Very Cherry Berry Happy Hari Raya Puasa 2017! May Allah bless y’all with endless joy! :) :) :)

For today’s recipe, ChoxChe is going to introduce you a simple way to cook a delightful braised tau kwa (firm tofu) with oyster sauce! Without further ado, let’s sink into it!

Ingredients:

1. Tau Kwa (400g): cut into bite-sized cubes.

2. Broccoli: rinsed and cut into smaller piece of florets.

3. 1 Tomato: cut into wedges.

4. A small cup of black beans: soaked overnight to soften.

5. Garlic: minced.

6. 2 tablespoons of osyter sauce

7. 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce

8. 2 tablespoons of sugar

9. 300 ml of water

10. 1 tablespoon of sesame oil

Instructions:

1. Saute the minced garlic with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil until aromatic.

2. Pour 300 ml of water, followed by 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce. Stir to mix evenly.

3. Throw in altogether the tomatoes, black beans, and tau kwa. Cover with lid and let this cook for 10 minutes under low heat.

4. Add the broccoli florets and put the lid back on to cook for another 10 minute. Please note that if the liquid doesn’t cover the entire surface of tofu, ChoxChe-ers would need to flip the tofu every now and then (within this course of 10 minutes) to ensure an even coloration and sauce’s absorption of tofu.

~DONE! Serve while it's hot!~
